A professor inspires a career in education research

As a sophomore at Northwestern University, Shira DeCovnick entered Professor Joan Chiao’s Cultural Psychology class with a keen interest in psychology. In this class, she discovered that psychology was as much a science as an art, and after a lecture on research in education, Shira was inspired to join Professor Chiao’s research lab. Shira became passionate about education research, and the experience led her to pursue a career in education.
