A professor helps a student become a published author

On entering his first English class at the University of Alberta in Canada, Emerson Csorba was armed with his dictionary and full of confidence. Expecting to impress his professor with his first essay, he was surprised when Professor Dalbir Sehmby had some words of advice. Emerson said, “He told me to cut out the flowery language and to be more concise in my writing.” Emerson took the advice to heart and, four years later, Professor Sehmby helped him out again – by agreeing to be the editor of Emerson’s first book.
