Online Learning at Historically Black Colleges & Universities: An Interview with Dr. Cristi D. Ford

What are some of the major issues facing Historically Black Colleges & Universities today, and how are HBCUs becoming known players in the online education space? Dr. Cristi D. Ford is Director of the Research Academy for Integrated Learning (RAIL) at the University of the District of Columbia. This university is the only public historically black college/university in the District. In her leadership, her unit oversees all online learning programs for the university, as well as broader teaching and learning initiatives. She has expertise and experience in building new online learning programs and has an interest in research related to teaching and learning in the online environment. Dr. Ford was selected by the Sloan Consortium, the leader in online learning, as a 2012 participant in the Institute of Emerging Leaders in Online Learning.
