Norwich University partners with Pearson Embanet to provide reliable help desk support and hosting services

Norwich University, Northfield, Vermont

Norwich University, the oldest private military college in the nation, is one of the six senior military colleges in the United States. The institution offers academic programs to a geographically diverse online student population, of which approximately one-fourth are active duty military located around the globe.

Assessing whether it should develop an in-house user support and hosting team, Norwich determined that its location in Central Vermont would make staffing the operation challenging. Finding a service provider who could ensure reliable hosting of the Norwich Learning Management System (LMS), as well as offer students an exceptional help desk experience, was the logical choice.

Norwich University decided to partner with Pearson Embanet to ensure that the student experience—for both master’s and bachelor’s degree students across more than ten programs—was consistently positive, facilitated learning, and aligned with the Norwich brand.

Pearson’s data centers are staffed 24/7, giving users fast, reliable access to their online learning environment, which is easily scalable to accommodate the organization’s changing needs. For 24/7 technical support, students and faculty have access to live help desk team professionals with expertise in their LMS platform. Pearson also supports a number of other technologies used by students and faculty.

Norwich has come to value Pearson’s technical expertise, its willingness to put the needs of Norwich first, and its dedication to collaborative decision making about hosting options, user support, and LMS functionality.

Debra Wick, associate dean of administration, College of Graduate and Continuing Studies, Norwich University, remarked, “Pearson Embanet has taken a proactive role in our partnership by making recommendations for upcoming system enhancements, leveraging resources to meet our growing needs, providing expertise in areas that are not our core business, and taking the time to understand our model in order to better inform long-term strategic decision making.”
