Innovative partnership provides centralized K–20 digital repository service to enhance instructor efficiency and improve instructional design

North Carolina Learning Object Repository, North Carolina

 

The North Carolina Learning Object Repository (NCLOR) was conceived in 2006 by the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) to provide a centralized location for the collection, sharing, and management of digital learning resources for K–20 educators throughout the state. It was financed by funds from the North Carolina legislature’s 2+2 Initiative, a program that streamlines the process for students to begin their postsecondary studies at a community college and transfer to a university. All North Carolina educators would have free access to the repository. To implement this ambitious project, NCCCS sought a digital repository partner with experience in the education industry.
