Fostering innovation and excellence for general biology teachers

The Biology Leadership Community is an annual learning and sharing summit devoted to innovation and excellence in teaching general biology to college science majors. Sponsored by Pearson, the summit is held each year in early spring.

At the summit, you will:

  • meet and establish a supportive network of colleagues
  • explore new facets of the teaching and learning equation
  • meet the Pearson publishing team
  • leave the meeting with at least one new idea to put into practice with your students

This participatory community of professors teaching the biology course for science and pre-professional majors strives to:

  • share ideas and innovations
  • present evidence
  • reveal challenges
  • discuss, debate, critique, and value teaching and learning
  • focus on learning
  • initiate, foster, and share collaborative projects
  • professional development opportunities

Hike for Literacy

BLC participants are invited to join us for a Hike for Literacy within the scenic Tucson Mountain County Park, just steps from the JW Starr Pass Resort on Saturday, February 25, 2017.

Hikers/walkers of all experience levels are encouraged to participate in this charitable, community event. For each participating guest, Pearson will donate $25 to Project Literacy, helping to reach their goal that by 2030 no child will be born at risk of poor literacy.
