Gender Intelligence: The Competitive Advantage
Since the 1970s, an ongoing conversation within the business world has been gender equality. Trying to overcome biases, organizations took up the charge to educate their employees about how the genders are the same. However, as Barbara Annis states in her book Gender Intelligence: Breakthrough Strategies for Increasing Diversity and Improving Your Bottom Line, “An unintended and unfortunate side effect was that it also prevented a richer, more nuanced conversation around men’s and women’s differences and how they might both play a part in the business world.”
Instead of gender equality or sameness, the conversation has shifted to gender intelligence.
