What Pearson’s Acquisition of Learning Catalytics Means for Education

Recently, education company Pearson acquired feedback engine startup company Learning Catalytics, which means great things for both companies and for education in general. Developed by Harvard professors Eric Mazur and Gary King with postdoctoral fellow Brian Lukoff, Learning Catalytics allows professors to collect, track and utilize student feedback in real-time without interrupting class discussion. The depth of information mined by the program puts Learning Catalytics head and shoulders above the competition in terms of sophistication.
