More parents are enrolling their children into a virtual classroom. Virtual Community School of Ohio (VCS), Ohio Connections Academy (OCA), and Buckeye Online School for Success (BOSS) are just a few schools offering families an educational alternative.
VCS is an online charter school, states their director of communications, Lori Berkheimer. Due to the struggling economy, parents are more frequently seeking educational money saving ideas. When it comes to money saving, VCS has got you covered. Berkheimer states that VCS students receive a computer, scanner, printer, internet, in-person and over-the-phone assistance and summer school – all free. At OCA students also receive everything they need, including a loaned computer, texts, necessary materials, personal assistance and an internet subsidy.
OCA, a public eSchool, is also tuition-free, Allison Bazin, OCA’s senior director of public relations, explains. OCA combines all the elements of school at home with highly qualified, state-certified teachers. She added, “The school serves students from kindergarten to grade 12 all across [the] Ohio State.”
