New York, NY - Oct. 3, 2008- Pearson Education and its implementation partner, interRel Consulting, received the 2008 Oracle Excellence Award for their "compelling" use of Hyperion business performance management software. The Oracle Excellence Awards recognizes organizations for innovative deployments of Oracle Fusion Middleware with Oracle Applications, and were presented on Sept. 23rd at the Oracle Excellence Awards Reception at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco.

The award is co-sponsored by Oracle, the Oracle Applications User Group (OAUG) and Quest International Users Group (Quest), Australian Oracle User Group (AUSOUG), United Kingdom User Group (UKOUG), Independent Oracle User Group (IOUG), and Oracle Development Tools User Group (ODTUG).

Pearson's primary goals were to enhance Pearson School's management reporting capabilities. The company partnered with InterRel to develop a single reporting and planning tool to help improve the company's ability to perform analysis, centralize the planning process, and reduce overall plan cycle time.
