BLOOMINGTON, Minn., February 15, 2008 —Pearson VUE, the electronic certification and licensure testing business of Pearson, announced that it has signed a long-term contract with the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) to provide test delivery services for the Board’s certification exams. ABA certification exams, including the Primary Recertification/Maintenance of Certification Examination (MOCA) and the Primary Certification Written Exam (Part 1), will be delivered through the Pearson VUE-owned and -operated network of Pearson Professional Centers throughout the United States and its territories.

The American Board of Anesthesiology examines and certifies physicians who complete an accredited program of anesthesiology training in the United States and voluntarily apply to the Board for certification or maintenance of certification. Its mission is to maintain the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology and to serve the public, medical profession, and health care facilities and organizations.
