Thirteen Pearson Products Earn Finalist Honors
in 23rd Annual Software & Information Industry Association CODiE Awards
NEW YORK – Feb. 13, 2008 —Thirteen Pearson products were named as finalists in the
23rd Annual Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) CODiE Awards. Honors for Pearson’s products span the award program’s software, content and education categories, recognizing the company’s commitment to developing innovative and integrated technology products that make a difference in student learning.
The products are DRA®2 Online Writer, eCollege, ELLIS, FamilyEducation.com, KnowledgeBox®, NovaNET®, PASeries® (Progress Assessment Series®), Pearson Inform™ 4.1, PowerSchool® Premier, SuccessMaker® Enterprise, Waterford Early Learning™-Math and Science, Waterford Early Learning-Reading and WriteToLearn™ 4.0.
Established in 1986, the CODiE Awards celebrate outstanding achievement and vision in the software, digital information and education technology industries. Through a unique combination of journalist and peer review, the CODiE Awards recognize 68 categories of outstanding products and services. This year’s finalists represent an impressive array of technology and business excellence, passion and success. They were chosen from more than 1,100 nominations, submitted by more than 600 companies.

DRA2 Online Writer combines the power of a digital pen with the Developmental Reading Assessment® Second Edition (DRA2), a quick, accurate, research-based assessment that helps teachers target reading instruction, and is a finalist in the Best Mobile or Handheld Education Solution category.
- eCollege provides an on-demand eLearning platform used to support online distance education and technology-enhanced education across the education enterprise and is a finalist in the Best Postsecondary Enterprise Solution.
- ELLIS, a computer-based solution for helping English Language Learners achieve English proficiency, is a finalist in the Best Reading/English Instructional Solution.
- FamilyEducation.com, a leading resource on the Internet for parents, is recognized in the Best Online Consumer Information Service category.
- A digital learning system for reading/language arts, math, science and social studies, Knowledge Box is a finalist for Best MultiMedia Solution.
- Designed for grades 6-12, NovaNET, a comprehensive, online courseware system, will compete in the category of Best Instructional Solution for Students at Home.
- PASeries, the first formative assessment product designed to measure progress and forecast student growth toward state goals or grade level expectations, is honored in the Best Student Assessment category.
- A K-12 data analysis and decision support tool, Pearson Inform 4.1 is a finalist in the Best K-12 Enterprise Solution category.
- PowerSchool Premier , a student information system that provides access to student data, enabling insight-driven decisions that increase student learning, is recognized in the Best Course/Classroom Management Solution category.
- SuccessMaker Enterprise, a K- 8 learning environment that offers a combination of management system, assessment and curriculum resources, is a finalist for Best Course/Classroom Management Solution.
- Waterford builds early foundations in reading, math and science for learners from Pre K–2. Waterford Early Reading is a finalist for Best Course/Classroom Management Solution, and Waterford Early Math and Science will compete for top honors in the Best Science Instructional Solution category.
- WriteToLearn is a previous CODiE Award finalist. This year the Web-based teaching tool that combines summary- and essay-writing activities will compete for top honors in the Best Reading/English Instructional Solution category.
