Camden County School System Revolutionizes Student Data Management, Analysis, and Assessment with Pearson Product Suite

District of 10,000 students to implement Pearson’s PowerSchool Premier, Pearson Inform, and Benchmark products for 2008-2009 school year

RANCHO CORDOVA, CA – DECEMBER 5, 2007- Pearson announced today that it will be providing the Camden County School System in Camden County, GA, a suite of data analysis, student information management, and assessment products including, the PowerSchool Premier student information system (SIS), Pearson Inform data analysis tool, and Benchmark assessment system. The addition of this complete and integrated solution will revolutionize the way in which Camden County Schools capture, manage, analyze, leverage, and communicate student performance data.

“The combination of PowerSchool Premier, Pearson Inform and Benchmark will provide us with the data, dashboard and assessment system needed to accurately identify each student’s strengths and weaknesses and adjust our curriculum and lesson plans accordingly,” said Mrs. Angela Eason, Director of Finance, Camden County School System. "Additionally, the selection of Pearson promises to ease the overall implementation process due to the highly integrated nature of their product suite and ability to provide a single project manager to oversee the entire implementation.”

Pearson’s products will allow teachers and administrators to capture and view comprehensive student data, identify areas of improvement, provide additional help and augment lesson plans as needed to positively impact overall student performance. The Camden County School System will be able to easily measure and report student performance against established state and district standards at any time throughout the year.

Through PowerSchool Premier, the district will gain an innovative set of communication tools, allowing access to secure, real-time student information online – effectively creating an interactive dialogue between parents, students, and teachers. This feature was of critical importance to the district because of their desire to enhance parent and teacher communication in an effort to improve student achievement.

“The implementation at the Camden County School System illustrates how districts nationwide can leverage Pearson’s proven suite of technologies to easily and effectively capture, manage, analyze and leverage student data to positively impact student performance,” said Mary McCaffrey, president of the School Systems group of Pearson. “Pearson is committed to developing highly innovative and integrated solutions focused on increasing teacher, student and parent communication and advancing overall student achievement.”

Camden County Schools is planning to begin using its integrated solution in the 2008-2009 school year.
