Brady Publishing Forms Strategic Partnership With International Fire Safety Training Association

Industry Leaders Join Forces For Publishing and Distribution

Upper Saddle River, NJ – September 17,2007 –Brady Publishing, the market leader in Emergency Medical Services training materials; the International Fire Safety Training Association (IFSTA), the market leader in fire service training materials; and Fire Protection Publications (FPP) have formed a strategic partnership to publish and distribute books for the Fire and EMS communities.

IFSTA and FPP, an auxiliary enterprise of the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology at Oklahoma State University, produce a full line of fire, emergency medical, and hazardous materials training manuals, study guides, curricula, video products, and associated training materials.

As part of the initial agreement, Brady and FPP/IFSTA will co-publish the 5th edition of the best-selling Essentials of Fire Fighting. They will also distribute each other’s products to their respective markets. Brady’s sales force will be the exclusive representative of IFSTA/FPP products in the college market and in major metropolitan fire departments.

Essentials of Fire Fighting, scheduled to be published in December 2007, is the “bible” of basic firefighter skills, and is the required training manual in many local fire departments and state/provincial training agencies in every region of the country. With a thirty-year legacy, Essentials of Fire Fighting is to the Fire market what Brady’s Emergency Care is to the EMS market.

“This agreement represents one of the most sensible and strategic partnerships in the publishing industry,” said Marlene Pratt, Executive Editor, Brady Publishing. “It is rare that two leaders in related markets can find a way to communicate and cooperate for the benefit of their customers. The whole in this instance is certainly greater than the parts, and we look forward to many years of successful publishing and distribution between our two companies.”

“It is a privilege for us to have the opportunity to partner with the Brady organization, and the true benefactor will be the firefighters we serve,” said Chris Neal, Director, FPP. “We have always been committed to the highest in firefighter safety and competence, and together with Brady, we are convinced we will far exceed customer expectations while remaining committed to these principles.”
