Pearson School Systems and Computer Automation Systems, Inc. Announce Partnership CAS's Market-Leading Special Education Management Solution, SEAS, Expands Scope of Pearson's Leading Student Information Systems -- Centerpoint and SASI MESA, Ariz. & MOUNTAIN HOME, AR. Sept. 7, 2005 -- Pearson School Systems, the market leader in student information and assessment solutions for PreK-12 education, and Computer Automation Systems, Inc., the market leader in special education management solutions, today announced a partnership agreement in which Pearson School Systems will offer CAS's industry-leading SEAS(TM) solution with its student management solutions to school districts nationwide. A 100 percent Web-based product, SEAS is designed to provide ease-of-use for teachers, while delivering the functionality needed to easily manage forms and reports tied to state-standard curriculum, related services tracking, reporting and analysis, and Medicaid billing. The partnership with Computer Automation Systems supports Pearson School Systems' strategy to deliver feature rich student information systems and assessment functionality based on its advanced industry knowledge and expertise, while creating best-of-breed partnerships with other industry leaders. "We are excited to offer the best special education management capabilities available to our customers, who leverage student data to improve the performance of every student in their districts," said Mike Evans, president, Pearson School Systems. "We've made a commitment to deliver the best available solutions through our own expertise or through partnerships with other industry leaders. Computer Automation Systems has demonstrated clear leadership with the development of a sophisticated, Web-based product and in its commitment to customer service." With the reauthorization of the IDEA act in December, school districts are experiencing rapid changes and are under more pressure than ever to demonstrate outcomes and accountability in their special needs populations. The increasing complexity of special education legislation led Pearson School Systems to choose a partner to provide a sophisticated, automated system that will work in conjunction with their student information systems to accurately and efficiently manage the special education subgroup. "Change is a constant in special education," said Harvey Hughes, president, Computer Automation. "We have a proven track record of keeping our solution current and compliant regardless of the timing or complexity of requirements changes. We know that Pearson School Systems holds these same high standards with its products as well. It's a great fit for us to be associated with the most widely-used student information systems in the K-12 market. Our combined solutions are going to be tightly integrated to deliver outstanding results to customers."
