Upper Saddle River, NJ - May 26, 2005 -- Pearson Prentice Hall, the world's leading publisher of academic and reference textbooks, is teaming up with Autodesk to develop a series of curriculum and textbooks to be used in conjunction with the Autodesk Design Institute.

Developed for universities and colleges, the Autodesk Design Institute is a subscription program that offers institutions the widest variety of Autodesk software for teaching design. All Autodesk Design Institute Press series titles will feature coverage of CAD (Computer-Aided Drafting) job skills and will be written in consultation with and reviewed by professional associations. The first book in the series, to be published in July 2005, is Introduction to AutocadŽ 2006 Software: A Modern Perspective, by Paul Richard and Jim Fitzgerald. The book addresses advances in technology and introduces students to two-dimensional drawing skills and commands using the current release of AutoCADŽ software methods.

"This alliance allows us to create an important new series of textbooks, supplying information that is currently unavailable to today's design students," said Robin Baliszewski, President, Prentice Hall Career, Health, Education and Technology (CHET).
