Pearson Education Acquires Assets Of Scott/Jones, Inc., Computer Textbook Publisher Products Include Popular Programming Titles by Tony Gaddis Upper Saddle River, NJ - May 16, 2005 -- Pearson Education, the global leader in educational publishing, has acquired the assets of Scott/Jones, Inc., publishers of college textbooks in computing and computer science. Scott/Jones publishes more than 75 titles, led by the highly successful "Starting Out With" series of programming books by Tony Gaddis. This series of introductory-level college texts includes leading books for the C++, Java, Visual Basic, and C# programming languages, which have been used by hundreds of thousands of students around the world. Scott/Jones also publishes the best-selling The Complete A+ Guide to Computer Repair by Cheryl Schmidt, who is the author of several other A+ certification titles. In addition, Scott/Jones publishes titles in computer science and programming, as well as in computer information systems, software applications and operating systems, electronic technology; and internet computing. All Scott/Jones titles will become part of the Pearson Addison-Wesley Computing list.
