Pearson Performance Solutions Work With Wells Fargo Earns ASTD Excellence In Practice Award

The Re-Engineered New Hire Curriculum for Call Center Agents recognized as exemplary practice in workplace learning and performance

PAWCATUCK, Conn.,May 24,2004 – Pearson Performance Solutions, a leading provider of performance-based learning solutions, today announced that the Re-Engineered New Hire Curriculum for Call Center Agents developed in partnership with Wells Fargo was selected for a prestigious ASTD Excellence in Practice Award.

ASTD recognizes exceptional practices in workplace learning and performance, and acknowledges the success achieved when the solution considers the best interests of both the organization and the employees. Awards are only presented to proven practices that have established clear and measurable results. This year 113 entries were reviewed.

The goal of this new hire program targeted more than instructional efficiencies. Objectives included enhancing the customer experience of phone bank customers; providing new hires with a more meaningful on-boarding experience and improving their job readiness; and enabling the organization to achieve notable business results. An evaluation of key performance indicators has shown an: improvement of sales close rates by 24%; increase of weekly core unit profit by 34%; increase in service quality scores by 13%; and attainment of over $2 million in first year training delivery cost savings.
