Family Education Network Launches mathbrain.com Next Generation Blend of Math and Play

One Million Children Registered At Free Site

Boston MA – March 18, 2004 – Funbrain.com, the Internet’s popular, teacher-endorsed educational games site, has launched www.mathbrain.com, a safe, proven and tested environment designed to help children develop grade-based math skills while having fun. MathBrain is available free of charge to teachers, students and families. More than one million children have registered since MathBrain’s launch in early 2004.

MathBrain’s twenty-five, interactive online games align with each child’s level of knowledge, to help develop skills in the areas of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and problem solving. The site mimics the play of popular entertainment video games, with players ascending to different “levels” after the successful completion of the previous game. Free registration allows kids to return to their last point of play upon return to the site.

"It is encouraging that kids are so quickly endorsing MathBrain’s unique blend of education and gaming," said Jess M. Brallier, Vice President of Family Education Network. "Kids are discovering this educational offer while at school and then coming back to it at home in their spare time, making MathBrain the ultimate ‘stealth learning’ environment."

FunBrain.com

FunBrain is one of the top five most-visited kids learning sites on the Internet, featuring over 50 fun and interactive learning games for kids, parents, and teachers. Popular games include Math Baseball and Grammar Gorillas, designed as in-class, online activities. FunBrain is part of the Family Education Network, which offers the best of the Internet's content, resources, and shopping for parents, teachers, and kids.
