Pearson Education Canada and Seneca College Partner to Develop New Learning Technologies First of its Kind Contribution from Largest Canadian Publisher Toronto – February 27, 2004 – The leading integrated education company, Pearson Education Canada, is teaming up with Seneca College to develop new learning technologies and methodologies for Seneca students. In the first contribution of its kind, Pearson Education Canada has made a significant commitment along with in-kind support for Seneca’s Library & Learning Commons applied research project and Learning Objects Repositories. Pearson Education Canada will supply relevant Learning Object content to be used in the research project and will also work directly with faculty and staff providing guidance in the development of new content to populate a student accessible database. "Pearson’s support of this crucial applied research initiative – the Learning Objects Repositories Project – will help shape the curriculum at the College, positioning Seneca graduates for success," said Dr. Rick Miner, President of Seneca College. Seneca’s Newnham Campus will host the pilot. The project’s outcomes will greatly advance the digital educational resources available to both faculty and students.
