Pearson Prentice Hall Selects TIECorp to Provide Instructional Management Software for 6-12 Social Studies Curriculum in Texas CD-based Product to Launch in Texas in August 2003 Upper Saddle River, NJ - August 25, 2003 - Pearson Prentice Hall, part of Pearson Education (NYSE: PSO - News), announced today that it has selected TIECorp's CD-based instructional management system to provide electronic curriculum and assessment capability for Pearson Prentice Hall's 6-12 social studies textbooks in Texas. The system will be launched in a version called TAKS Scanner Software, which incorporates the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills social studies standards with Pearson Prentice Hall's social studies curriculum. TAKS Scanner Software will provide teachers with an electronic curriculum guide enabling them to assess student performance, assign relevant instructional material and use benchmark tests to monitor student progress toward meeting state standards. Student assessment data is scanned using Pearson's new EZData classroom scanner. Instructional plans along with individual and group progress reports can be automatically generated.
