Addison-Wesley Publishes First Three Books In The Highly-Anticipated Microsoft.Net Development Series

Authoritative Series, Created in Partnership with DevelopMentor, Designed to Empower Developers

Boston, MA - November 14, 2002 - Addison-Wesley today announced that it has released the first three books in the highly anticipated Microsoft .NET Development Series. The first three books to publish are:

• Essential .NET Volume I: The Common Language Runtime (ISBN 0-201-73411-7) by Don Box (with Chris Sells) shows experienced developers how to tap the power of Microsoft .NET technology.
• Pragmatic ADO.NET (ISBN 0-201-74568-2) by Shawn Wildermuth provides developers with a clear introduction to ADO.NET including practical solutions and motivation for its use.
• Programming in the .NET Environment (ISBN 0-201-77018-0) by Damien Watkins, Mark Hammond, and Brad Abrams describe the Microsoft vision for distributed component-based systems development.

Plans for the series were announced last year when Addison-Wesley signed an agreement with Microsoft Corp. and DevelopMentor to create the Microsoft .NET Development Series. It is the only series of books fully authored and reviewed by the principal authorities and pioneering developers of the Microsoft .NET technologies. The focus of the series is centered on the design, architecture, and implementation of the Microsoft .NET initiative.

The next books to publish in the series will be .NET Web Services: Architecture and Implementation by Keith Ballinger (ISBN 0-321-11359-4), Essential ASP.NET with Examples in Visual Basic .NET (ISBN 0-201-76039-8) by Fritz Onion and Essential ASP.NET with Examples in C# (0-201-76040-1) also by Fritz Onion.
