Pearson Recognized For Third Straight Year as One of the "100 Top Companies for Working Mothers"

Upper Saddle River, NJ - September 24, 2002 - Pearson, the world's leading educational publisher (a Pearson plc company, NYSE: PSO), has been named to the prestigious Working Mother magazine list of "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers," which cites corporations that recognize the value of meeting the needs of working families. The list is based on an assortment of criteria, including flexible scheduling, advancement of women the workplace, and time off for new parents.

This recognition represents the third consecutive year in which Pearson's progressive Work Life programs have been lauded by Working Mother. Previously commended in the magazine's top five companies for workplace flexibility, Pearson is already a publishing industry leader in employee workplace initiatives.
