Pearson Wins Texty/McGuffey Awards From Text and Academic Authors Association

Two Pearson Titles Are Honored with 2010 Awards

New York, NY,: April 15, 2010 — Two Pearson titles are winners of 2010 awards from the Text and Academic Authors Association (TAA).

Human Anatomy, 6th edition, by Frederic Martini, Michael J. Timmons, and Robert Tallitsch (Pearson Education/Benjamin Cummings) received a Textbook Excellence Award, or Texty, in the College Life Sciences category.

Modern Operating Systems, 3rd edition, by Andrew S. Tanenbaum (Pearson Education/Prentice Hall) won a McGuffey Longevity Award in the category of College Computer Science/Engineering.

Pearson Education Logo TAA created the Textbook Excellence Awards in 1992 to recognize current textbooks and learning materials. The McGuffey Awards, created in 1993 to recognize textbooks and learning materials whose excellence has been demonstrated over time, are named for William Holmes McGuffey, whose influential primers, which first appeared in 1836, helped bring the United States out of frontier illiteracy.

The awards will be presented during a special luncheon at the 2010 TAA Conference on Text and Academic Authoring, to be held in Minneapolis on June 26th, 2010.
