Pearson to Host Higher Education Online Learning Innovators at Cite 2013
13TH Annual Event for Online Learning Trends and Best Practices
WHO: Pearson will host its 13th annual Cite online learning in higher education conference.
WHAT: The two-and-a-half day conference brings together more than 500 higher education professionals, including online program directors, administrators, educators, instructional designers, and executives, for a dialogue on innovative online learning strategies and practices across a broad range of institutions and programs.
Keynote speakers will include:
- Dan Pink
- Dan Pink is the New York Times and Wall Street Journal best-selling author of Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us, which uses 50 years of behavioral science to overturn the conventional wisdom about human motivation and offers a more effective path to high performance.
- Jane McGonigal
- Jane McGonigal is the leading speaker on gamification — the application of game-design principles to real-life challenges. She has created games for the World Bank, the Olympic Games, the American Heart Association, the New York Public Library, and many more.
The Cite program agenda will feature more than 70 compelling sessions and workshops conducted by innovative educators and administrators from more than 45 institutions across the country. Key topics will include the benefits of social learning in online higher education; using data and analytics to analyze trends in student performance and break through to improved learning outcomes; utilizing technology for more effective course redesign; and best practices for engaging faculty.
