Pearson Supports Advanced Placement Summer Institutes

Publisher Offers Complimentary Texts to Workshop Participants

Upper Saddle River, NJ, April 29, 2010 — Advanced Placement Summer Institutes – workshops for new or aspiring high school teachers – will be sponsored throughout the U.S. this summer by The College Board. Pearson, the market leader in AP* program offerings, will provide complimentary AP* texts and teacher support materials in conjunction with these workshops to help increase the number of qualified AP* teachers.

More low-income students are participating and experiencing success in AP* than ever before, and increasing numbers of African American, Latino and American Indian students are participating in AP*, but these students remain underserved.

Among the AP* materials being offered this summer are: Campbell Biology 8e AP* Edition, Stearns, World Civilizations: The Global Experience 6e AP* Edition, Ciccarelli, Psychology AP* Edition, Kennedy, Literature: An Introduction to Fiction, Poetry, Drama, and Writing 5e, AP* Edition; Bock, Stats: Modeling the World, 3e, Each of these texts is supported by AP* Test Prep Workbooks and/or AP* specific ancillaries.
