Connections Learning & NCSSS: Partnering to power STEM education

NCSSS Online Learning Collaboration

Pearson’s Connections Learning and the National Consortium of Secondary STEM Schools (NCSSS) have partnered to offer NCSSS member schools STEM education programs with a proven-effective online STEM curriculum, tools, and expert teachers.

A Wealth of STEM Resources

There’s no question that promoting STEM education and improving American students’ mastery of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics is an urgent national priority. To meet the needs of our 65,000 students and 700,000 supplementary course enrollments, Connections Learning has created an online STEM program — a full complement of courses, tools, and activities — and trained a national cadre of expert teachers to put these resources to work for student success. In most states that Connections Learning serves, our student’s scores on standardized science tests have exceeded the state average. Additionally, Connections Learning Advanced Placement® students outscore the national average on the AP® test.

How can NCSSS member schools use Connections Learning STEM?

Consider these examples:

  • A student needs the flexibility in his/her schedule due to traveling for athletics or extra-curriculars.
  • A STEM-focused secondary school needs just the right technology-based “learning objects” to supplement its face-to-face program.
  • A budget-strapped high school needs Advanced Placement® courses for its promising science and math students.
  • A school needs a cost-effective and educationally sound way to provide STEM education without having to double its staff.
