The conversion to a digital curriculum has begun in the Jersey Community school district in Illinois. The moves officially started with the signing of a five-year contract with the educational company Pearson and the purchase of a digital math series from McGraw Hill. The school district and Pearson agreed to a five-year partnership last week and a digital conversion pilot will start in the 2012-13 school year with the dedication of one computer lab at the high school and one at Illini Middle School, the school board learned Thursday. Eight classes will be piloted next year at JCHS including 10th-grade geometry, ninth-grade English and 11th-grade U.S. history. At Illini, a seventh-grade math class will be piloted.
