Jackson State program increases math grades, completion rates

Jackson State Community College’s SMART Math Center is earning accolades for increasing student achievement and course completion with its usage of the computer software MyMathLab Plus. “Our lab really focuses on individualized instruction,” said Linda Rainer, an adjunct professor. “They don’t have to worry about trying to keep up with their peers or the teacher. We’re finding that more students who had difficulty in math are finding success. It’s not 100 percent fail proof, but more students are encouraged by their success.”
