How It Works

Learn about Smarthinking’s online tutoring services

With Smarthinking, students experience online tutoring that’s fast, simple, and convenient.

Smarthinking’s online tutoring and writing services are appropriate for a variety of institutional models and support online or on-campus students. Students can connect on demand with an expert tutor for a drop-in session 24 hours a day, schedule an appointment in advance, submit writing for detailed review, or ask a question offline.

Smarthinking doesn’t require any special software installation or equipment. To access the service online, students sign in from our website, via their LMS or campus portal, with integrations available from select Pearson MyLab & Mastering products. Android and iOS apps are available so students can sign in from their mobile devices.

Institutions have access to a data dashboard to monitor student usage, examine trends for future planning, and extract data to conduct detailed studies on the impact of online tutoring.
