Mistaken conviction. Grand jury indictment decisions. There remains no shortage of controversies regarding various processes and outcomes in the contemporary legal system.

Social psychology provides both theoretical lens and methodological framework for contributing to the assessment of such phenomena. In the present talk, I will discuss current perspectives on topics including eyewitness memory and jury decision-making, including recent research findings, policy changes, and the challenges inherent to attempts to apply social psychology in the courtroom as an expert witness.
