Ready for work

Employability Summit 2016

March 9 at SXSWedu | 1:00 – 5:00 PM CT
JW Marriott Austin

Closing the employability gap

Our education should guide our futures and prepare us for the journey ahead. But how many professional development sessions address what it means to ensure students are ready for work?

According to a Gallup study, while 96 percent of Chief Academic Officers rate their institution as either very or somewhat effective at preparing students for the world of work, only 11 percent of business leaders strongly agree graduating students have the skills and competencies that their business needs.

Thank you for joining the summit!

The Ready for Work: Employability Summit 2016 at SXSWedu featured many innovative ways to bridge the gap between education and the workplace to increase the qualifications of individuals and set them on a clear path for success. Employability experts—including best-selling author and award-winning columnist Jeff Selingo, UpSkill America’s Jaime Fall, Career Path High’s Robyn Bagley, and others from LinkedIn and IBM—explored how learners, educators, and employers can all be part of the solution.
