It’s a new school year and there are different administrators, schedules and classes in many buildings, while others are paying more for lunches. Here’s a back-to-school roundup of North schools, highlighting some of the changes students have faced since returning to classes for 2012-13:
Allegheny Valley
Classes started Tuesday in the junior-senior high and Wednesday at Colfax Upper Elementary and Acmetonia Primary schools. Commencement will be June 7.
A new elementary reading series, Reading Street, will help teachers build reading skills at each grade level. The elementary buildings have a new counselor and additions to technology, such as wireless Internet, two wireless laptop carts with 30 laptop computers and one wireless printer each at Colfax. Several interactive white boards also have been be added in classrooms.
