A New Way to Learn

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (KGAN) – Close to twenty parents and students filled a conference room at the Homewood Suites in Cedar Rapids Tuesday night (2/7), all with the same mission; finding an alternative to the traditional public school system.

“I thought I’ll see what it’s about,” said Doug Rinderknecht picking up several brochures and looking over the stacks of text books surrounding the room, “and if it’s worth while fine, if not they already got school so fine.”

As the presentation started, Rinderknecht and the other parents found that “it” may actually redefine the public school experience; the “Iowa Connections Academy.”

“It’s a full time virtual public school,” said Laura Rice, one of the presenters from the company Connections Academy.
